Despite what we tell ourselves, we don’t control who we fall in love with. Sometimes this means finding love when we don’t expect it and aren’t looking for it, but sometimes it means we end up falling in love with someone that’s all wrong for us. In their new single “Don’t”, LA-duo VOILÀ reminisce on the person that’s both “the reason I quit drinking” and “the reason I get drunk.” Toxic relationships can bring about a tangled web of emotions, and even if those around us tell us we’d be better off alone, actually leaving can be the hardest step we ever take. If you’re a fan of the heartbreak anthems from artists like LANY, Lauv, or Shawn Mendes, VOILÀ’s “Don’t” is for you.

VOILÀ is composed of Luke Eisner and Gus Ross, who met while studying at USC’s Thornton School of Music. Eisner, a male model (he’s done campaigns for Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, and been featured in Vogue and GQ), comes from small-town Wisconsin; Ross comes from London, where he sang big band jazz, and previously studied at Eton College. They’ve opened for everyone from Kesha to X Ambassadors, and they’ve got a stellar team behind them: they’re managed by Ty Stiklorius of Friends At Work (John Legend, Ryan Adams, Alanis Morissette), their lawyer is Josh Binder (Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Marshmello), and their agent is Jonathan Adelman (Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Louis Tomlinson).

If you’re in Los Angeles, you can catch VOILÀ at Moroccan Lounge on November 11, or at the W Los Angeles – West Beverly Hills on December 20. They’re currently at work on their debut album and will be hitting the road for their first tour in 2019, so keep up with the band on Facebook and Twitter to see if they’ll be in your area.
