PREMIERE: RIVALS reflect on summer tour with “Wild Things” video

Rivals

Los Angeles, California’s ever-growing dark pop-rock band RIVALS formed back in 2014 by vocalist Kalie Wolfe, bassist Sebastian Chamberlain, guitarist Micket Woodle, and drummer Josh Alves. The band quickly established themselves due to Wolfe’s powerfully smooth vocals and energetic songwriting, establishing a type of fearlessness in their music that allows them to standout amongst the rest.

Since the release of their debut EP, Haunted/Hunted, was released back in 2015 and is when they started making waves. RIVALS started receiving critical acclaim for their live performances, having toured with bands like Story Untold, Uh Huh Baby Yeah!, Best Kept Secret, as well as sharing a lineup with acts like Assuming We Survive, the Word Alive, Oceans Ate Alaska, and more on the 2014 Vans Warped Tour.

RIVALS released their debut album, Damned Soul, earlier this year via Smartpunk Records. The 10-track release — produced by John Espy (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus) and Aaron Edwards (Sick Puppies, Eolhim, The Cab) — has amassed over 1 million times on Spotify. They also just recently wrapped up their summer-long cross country tour with the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus in support of Damned Soul.

Today, to celebrate the tour, Damned Soul, and recent success, we are partnering with RIVALS to premiere the music video for “Wild Things.” Perhaps there’s nothing more fitting than this song, for this moment in the band — a song about living out your dreams and never going up, as they continue to grow and break new ground as a band.

“We never gave up, we never quit, despite all the odds we fought. ‘Wild Things’ is about striving to do what you love and being who you are no matter what! Never stray! Never change! We are the wild things,” the band shares.

RIVALS will be going back out on tour in early-2019 as they travel on the way to the Shiprocked Cruise. Damned Soul is out, and you can pick it up here.
