Ariana Grande has been the talk of the town for the last couple weeks. First she dropped new single “thank u, next,” a strong pop song about her exes and her healing. It seems like the song had barely been out for 10 minutes when Grande began releasing teaser images for the music video. This got everyone excited because not only is it a music video from Ariana Grande, but it appeared the video would pay homage to some of the most iconic teen movies ever. This afternoon the “thank u, next” video finally arrived, and it is as every bit as magnificent as we could have hoped for.

The video begins with a scene mirroring the iconic Mean Girls sequence of students talking about Regina George, except in this case they’re talking about Grande. The video sticks with Mean Girls for a bit, from the high school hallways to the Christmas dance (with a surprise appearance from Kris Jenner as George’s mother). The video moves from there to the excellent Bring It On, and rounds out the trifecta of excellent movies with Legally Blonde. Grande shows great comedic timing as the lead role in each section, and each scene is painstakingly recreated from the original film. Altogether it’s a fun, often hilarious, and all-around great video. Someone give Ariana a Best Picture nomination.

Prepare to add all these movies to your plans this weekend, then watch the video for Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” above.
