MKNLY I an up-and-coming four piece alternative meets pop-rock band from North Carolina. Consisting of guitarist Tristan Briza, vocalist Benjamin Green, drummer Anthony Hamilton, and guitarist Josh Wicker, the band formed in the summer of 2017 and release their debut EP, Something to Stand Behind, not long after.

It wasn’t long after that until the band started opening for nationally touring acts like The Spill Canvas, Emarosa, and more. Despite the sudden success they experienced, MKNLY wasn’t quite satisfied. They began working and recording new music with Chris Piquette of No Boundaries Studios in Rhode Island, and that brings us to today.

At the top of this post, you will find our exclusive stream of their new single “When I’m Lonely.” It’s a song that signals MKNLY have continued to grow and push their sound into uncharted territory for their group. While it still contains catchy melodies, explosive chorus, and rhythmic guitars that help blend it all together. Layered overtop of it at all are Green’s vocals reminiscent of Matty Aresnault of A Loss for Words, as he brings his emotionally expressive lyrics to life.

“‘When I’m Lonely is the title-track for our upcoming EP release. The song truly encompasses the emotions of the one night stand mentality. Scared to be alone, but yet at the same time completely scared to love or be with someone,” explains the band.

No more details have been released regarding their upcoming EP, but if it is anything like “When I’m Lonely,” you can consider us excited.
