Is it January yet? That’s when Maggie Rogers‘ debut album Heard It In A Past Life will be out, as we learned earlier this month. The announcement came alongside the release of new single “Light On,” giving us something to listen to while we patiently waited. Now there’s something new to watch from Rogers while we wait, as she released the music video for “Light On.”
While we follow Rogers herself in the video, the real star is all the beautiful scenery around her. We see her travel the open roads through isolated wilderness. She bathes in a river, screams and sings in the car, and sits quietly as the vastness of the universe surrounds her. Director and cinematographer Olivia Bee deserves major kudos for the video, as her eye behind the camera captures so many breathtaking scenes and small emotional moments from Rogers. The content look on Rogers’ face at the end of the video is an especially affecting moment.
