Some stories are told in chronological order, from beginning to end, but fans of Lauv have had the pleasure of hearing his story unfold in songs as he writes them. Beginning with “The Other” in 2015 and following the massive success of “I Like Me Better,” the singer-songwriter has created a playlist called I met you when I was 18. It wasn’t clear at first when – and how – the story would come to an end, but Lauv has now released the final four songs of the playlist: “Paranoid” and “Bracelet” were released last week, and “Enemies” and “Never Not”  were released this Thursday.

In a press release about the playlist Lauv says, “I met you when I was 18. is a collection of songs, a story. About moving to New York City when I was 18 and falling in love for the first time. A story about trying to figure out your own identity whilst being deeply intertwined with someone else’s. It’s a story that, since I released my first song “The Other” in 2015, has been told a bit out of order. In pieces, in fragments and in moments reminisced, but now here it is, in it’s entirety: “I met you when I was 18. not an album, but a body of work nonetheless. I hope you enjoy.”

Some bodies of work can be listened to in any order, but for best effect, we recommend listening to I met you when I was 18. in the order it’s presented. Listen to the playlist on Spotify below or on the streaming service of your choice here.
