Back in February, 5 Seconds of Summer broke a silence of nearly two years with the release of a new track “Want You Back.” With its soulful vocals, “Want You Back” was a step in a new direction for the group, and hinted at something more mature to come. Now, 5 Seconds of Summer have announced that they’ll be releasing their third studio album Youngblood on June 22 via Capitol Records.

5 Seconds of Summer - Youngblood

5 Seconds of Summer vocalist/guitarist Luke Hemmings says of the new album and their time away, “Growing up is what we had to do on Youngblood. Seven years as a band may seem like a long time, but we were teenagers when we started. We had to look at each other and say, ‘Are we going to stop now, or do this forever? Because if we continue, then we have to go farther than we ever have before.’”

A new song, “Youngblood,” will be released this Thursday, April 12 at 7am PT / 10am ET, but in the mean time, 5SOS have shared two new versions of “Want You Back”: an acoustic version, and an EDM remix by Tritonal.

With the release of “Want You Back,” 5 Seconds of Summer also announced the Spring 5SOS3 Tour, which sees them performing at smaller venues than the amphitheaters they’d hit on previous tours. It was no surprise that every single date sold out, but luckily for fans, the band have announced a summer tour. The Meet You There Tour sees 5SOS hitting amphitheaters and other large venues across North America (including the legendary Greek Theatre in Los Angeles). The full list of shows for both the spring and summer tours can be seen below; unless otherwise noted, tickets for the summer tour will go on sale this Friday, April 13 at 10am local time on livenation.com. Each ticket purchased for the Meet You There Tour will include a copy of the album.
