Fresh off the heels of their recently released fourth studio album, Pretty Vicious (released in November of 2023 via Big Machine), the platinum-selling rock band The Struts have already returned with a brand new track.
Out just in time for Valentine’s Day, “How Can I Love You (Without Breaking Your Heart)” is a surprisingly mellow track for the usual high-flying rockers. The single is an achingly sincere song that ruminates on handling a heart with care when caution is all you have to offer. The track showcases the ever-evolving songwriting brilliance of the quartet, with gorgeous instrumentation and a wonderful vocal performance from singer Luke Spiller.
“’How Can I Love You (Without Breaking Your Heart)’ is a brutally honest song that takes me right back to that moment when the phrase came to me,” Spiller explains. “It has a Rod Stewart vibe to it, which is definitely something we haven’t done before. I also adore the backing vocal section, which has a Fleetwood Mac feel that’s never a bad thing. The lyric was laboured over for a long time, which I hope people will appreciate.”

The single is the first of two new tracks that The Struts will be releasing this month, together forming a brand new digital double A-side single.
The Struts hit the road this month as they support Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators in Australia and Queens of the Stone Age in Canada, before continuing their headlining tour in the US, with a string of festival shows to come. Additionally, Luke Spiller is set to perform at the 2024 Love Rocks benefit show at the Beacon Theatre in NYC on March 7th, alongside The Black Keys, Hozier, Nile Rogers, Tom Morello, and more.
This summer the band will be back in the UK for a highly-anticipated Main Stage performance at Download Festival.
