When Frank Ocean sings, the world listens.
Notoriously reclusive vocalist and angel in disguise Frank Ocean broke his silence late last night by sharing a cover of “Moon River” with fans via his Tumblr. The recording has since been made available on YouTube and can be streamed at the top of this page.
The song most likely to have played a part in helping your grandparents or great-grandparents fall in love, “Moon River” has been synonymous with romance since Aubrey Hepburn first sang it as part of the film Breakfast At Tiffany’s in 1961. Ocean’s take simplifies the production and emphasizes the vocals, which fans will recognize as being precisely how the vocalist tends to approach the majority of his material. The result is a unique and deeply engaging listening experience that you won’t soon forget.
We wish we could tell you what Ocean will be up to next, but he prefers to play his cards close to the chest. For now, follow Substream on Twitter and we’ll make sure you never miss another headline.
