Can you believe that Christmas is just over two weeks away? All of us here at Substream have been listening to Christmas music on repeat since Thanksgiving, and while we all love listening to the classics, whether it’s a cover version of a holiday classic or an original track, there’s something special about hearing our favorite bands share their own odes to the holidays. If you’re a pop-punk fan, chances are Good Charlotte has a place in your heart, and now, the California-via-Maryland quintet have shared a holiday treat: their new EP, A G.c. Christmas, Pt. 1 is available now.
A G.C. Christmas, Pt. 1 is a short listen, featuring only three tracks. The first is a cover of Wham!’s 1984 classic “Last Christmas”, but the other two are originals. “Christmas by the Phone” was originally released as an acoustic track back in 2002, and this time it’s been given the full-band treatment. While Good Charlotte was quiet from 2011 till their reformation in 2015, Benji and Joel Madden were actively creating music as “The Madden Brothers”; “Let the World be Still” was first shared in 2012 and it’s now been re-done with the full GC lineup.
A G.C. Christmas, Pt. 1 can be heard below. With “Pt. 1” in the title we can’t help but expect a Pt. 2 to follow sometime soon; Good Charlotte have not announced plans for a follow-up holiday release, but we’ll sure to keep you updated when they do. Make sure you’re following Substream on Twitter so you don’t miss a headline.
