Issa fourth-wall shattering good time in 21 Savage’s latest video.
When one thinks of 21 Savage humor is rarely the first thing on their mind. The Atlanta born rapper has built his career with graphic depiction of a life lived amidst murderers and drug dealers. He is the quintessential “give no fucks” rapper of the moment, but his video for “Bank Account” may lead some to see him in a new light.
Starring Mike Epps as what can best be described as every Mike Epps characters you’ve ever seen, only with a bit more gray hair, “Bank Account” finds the veteran comedian stumbling upon what appears to be a hostage situation. As 21 Savage raps while reviewing a miniature version of his city and later observing said hostages, Epps develops a plan to save the day. When the two run into one another a surprising revelation flips the entire video upside down. You can view the visuals above.
21 Savage’s debut album, Issa, is available now. We will have a review of his recent collaborative mixtape with Migos member Offset, Without Warning, in the coming days. Follow Substream on Twitter for updates.
