You Blew It were always too good for this wicked world and soon they will be no more (for now).

Less than a year after the release of their third full-length album, Abendrot, Florida indie rock outfit You Blew It has revealed plans to go on hiatus for the foreseeable future. Details on the reasoning for this decision are scarce at the time of publication, but the band has revealed two final shows (for now) that will help close this chapter of their career. The dates and venues for those performances are as follows:

October 26 at Tequila’s in Ybor City, FL
October 28 at The Wooly in Gainesville, FL

We’ve chosen to use the phrase “(for now)” a few times in this article because similar phrasing appears in the initial farewell announcement from You Blew It. This either means the band may add additional performances to their final run or that they already plan to reunite at some point in the future. It could also be a third option that we have yet to imagine. Again, details are scarce.

Both of the performances above are happening as part of Fest, the largest annual punk festival in America. Okay, maybe you could argue that bigger events exist, but none that mean more to the punk community than Fest. This is the place all fans of punk in its various forms can gather to celebrate their love without fear of rejection from society at large. It is as close to a religious experience as fans of that music are interested in being a part of, and you can still get tickets right now by visiting The Fest’s official website.

We expect You Blew It to release a proper announcement regarding their plans for the future in the days and weeks ahead. Please make it a point to follow Substream on Twitter to ensure you never miss another headline.
