The holiday weekend is upon us. Those of you lucky enough to have plans are probably reading this article as a way to kill time until school or work ends, while everyone else is reading in between glances at their texts to see if anyone else has plans. Whatever the case, you’re in luck because today we are premiering a song that has been stuck in my head for days. Weeks, in fact. And I know everyone who is in needed of some sweet, sweet audio escape is going to fall in love with the music up and coming band City Under Siege has to share.
“Spark” is the second single to be released by City Under Siege off their upcoming record. It’s also the first song to follow the band’s recent run of acoustic shows supporting alternative favorites Rookie Of The Year, Kyle Lucas, Stages and Stereos, and (for the real genre diehards) Ashland. The thick bass line the leads you into the song plays with a crunch that keeps listeners on their toes. As the rest of the band comes in and the lyrics begin the track evolves into a shimmering, upbeat song of love and longing that carries an inherent sense of fun I believe no one can deny. It is kind of like what I imagine The 1975 might sound like after they spent a summer on Warped Tour, only with a bit more joy. You can experience the song for yourself above via its official video.
While we enjoy the video for “Spark” City Under Siege are busy in the studio putting the finishing touches on their new album. We do not have a release date for that project just yet, nor do we know of any plans to tour before 2017 is out. What we do know is that City Under Siege have all the makings of the next band that will change your life. Their music is emotionally driven, yet fun, and it speaks to experiences we all go through in a way that is undeniably unique. Follow Substream on Twitter for updates.
