Somehow we’ve blinked, and the year is almost over. It’s time to put away the flamingo floats and watered-down piña coladas and break out the ugly sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes because fall is fast approaching. We’ve been stowed away all summer working on this issue (mainly hiding from the heat) for your reading pleasure, and we can’t wait for you to tear through the pages and devour every word.

In Substream 58, you’ll probably notice a lot of bands and artists you’re familiar with–Bleachers, PVRIS and Foster The People, to name a few–but we want to challenge you to really focus on an act within our pages that you’ve never given a chance, an act that you’ve never heard of, or, heck, close your eyes, flip the pages and devote some time to learning about whoever your finger lands on. We want reading Substream to be an experience, something you crave and want to come back to again and again.

If this is your first time looking through an issue of Substream, welcome! You’ve really picked the best issue to begin reading, and we surely hope it won’t be your last.
