Virginia-based band The Anatomy of Frank have set a very ambitious goal–to record an album on all seven continents. Band members Kyle Woodard (guitar, vocals), Jimmy Bullis (keyboard) and Max Bollinger (drums) began the journey with 2015’s North America, and now, two years later, they’re back with the second effort in achieving their dream, South America.
Today, we’re excited to bring you a new single from the band’s upcoming release called “The Sunken Coast.” It’s the perfect summer wind-down song, sleepy but filled with emotion and brimming with a certain sadness that doesn’t quite make you want to cry but certainly leads you to a familiar place. It’s a truly heart-wrenching song with lyrics like “When I see your picture, my face starts to burn/ ‘Cause I imagine I’d still have you if only I’d waited my turn.”
The track’s delicate piano and steel guitar sound offer a somber tone that matches the lyrics perfectly. South America is set for release on September 1.
