They say it’s good to know people in high places. It’s also good to know pop stars who are willing to take your special day to the next level by giving you something others would pay large sums of money to experience. Just ask The Chainsmokers, or maybe ask the guy who convinced them to perform one of their hit songs at his wedding.

It all happened over the weekend. Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, better known to music fans as The Chainsmokers, attended the wedding of a close friend in Philadelphia at the gorgeous Rittenhouse Hotel. After the ceremony, the EDM superstars surprised the room by performing their smash single “Paris” with accompaniment from a live band. Someone – or more likely, many people – captured the moment via cell phone so the rest of us could be forever jealous. You can view their performance above.

A lot of people give The Chainsmokers a hard time, but in this video we see just how great their live show can be and how their music brings people together. The brass elements of the band really help to emphasize the sonic beauty of “Paris,” and the looks on the faces of those in attendance is all you need to understand the mood in the room.

The Chainsmokers’ debut album, Memories…Do Not Open, is available now wherever music is sold. We weren’t the biggest fans of the record ourselves, but we do recommend giving the singles a try if nothing else.
