While you may recall lectures from high school and disagree, history isn’t boring. Learning about who came before us and shaped how we think, feel, and live our daily lives is not only fascinating, but also important to understand our place in the world and our relation to others. In their newest music video for track “Miracles,” Coldplay and Big Sean help us further that understanding.

The video takes place in a museum dedicated to Ellis Island, one of the biggest hubs of immigration in American history. As the song talks about taking inspiration and living your life with purpose, we see real photos of immigrants that came through Ellis. It’s moving to see people of every race, nationality, background, and religion coming to the same place with the same goal of improving their lives and the lives of future generations.

“Miracles” is from Coldplay’s Kaleidoscope EP, which is streaming now. Physical copies of the EP are coming on August 4.
