The video above first appeared this week across The National’s social media channels. Fans immediately assumed the cryptic, oddly unnerving footage had something to do with new music and it did not take long to learn they were right. A new album from The National is indeed on the way, though we still have a few months to wait.

Sleep Well Beast, The National’s first album since 2015’s A Lot of Sorrow, is scheduled to arrive in stores and online September 8. Reddit confirmed this information by sharing a tweet with a photo of an advertisement for The National’s album, which you can view below:

 

The National only have a handful of performances planned for the rest of the year. Current dates include:

June 21 – Glastonbury Festival
August 11 – Haven Festival Copenhagen, Denmark
October 6 – Forest Hills Stadium Forest Hills, NY w/ Daughter
November 2 Pitchfork Paris November 2-4 Paris, France
