Chicago band Friday Pilots Club have teamed up with Substream to share the world premiere of their brand new music video for “Homecoming,” a single taken from their 2016 EP, South State.

Serving as the longest of South State‘s four tracks, “Homecoming” is a meditative, indie-folk offering that builds and builds to a crescendo of exploding instrumentation and vocal conviction that feels both powerful and relieving. The accompanying video that we’re sharing today finds vocalist/guitarist Caleb Hiltunen wandering into the woods after it appears that he has punched and broken a mirror, presumably due to some sort of emotional conflict, internal or otherwise. Along the way, Hiltunen encounters several curious characters and situations before coming across a group of free spirits with whom he finds much-needed solace. See for yourself:

“I loved every second we spent creating this video,” says Hiltunen. “Our two directors did their jobs professionally and responsibly, while still maintaining a super-fun work environment. We got to be with our friends and let them be a part of what we do as a career, and that was priceless. I’m excited for what we have coming up, too. I’m so excited to share our plans and work with our fans.”

Friday Pilots Club’s South State EP, along with the rest of their catalog, can be purchased through iTunes.
