Remember when we took bets on Sorority Noise being the band to know in 2017? Here’s definitive proof in the form of their new single, “No Halo.”
“No Halo” is the first track on the band’s magnificent new LP, You’re Not As _____ As You Think. Deceptively catchy and lyrically morbid, “No Halo” is Sorority Noise doing what they do best. “If there’s no rest for the wicked, I’m as evil as it gets,” screams frontman Cameron Boucher over an instrumental that churns forward at any cost. It perfectly sets the score for a masterful and cathartic rock record—one which proves that the genre can still be engaging in 2017 without unnecessary qualifiers like the scorned “emo revival.”
If you like “No Halo,” you’ll love You’re Not As _____ As You Think, which is due out on March 17 via Triple Crown Records. Pre-order the album here. Catch them at one of their upcoming tour dates with Modern Baseball, Kevin Devine, and the Obsessives.
