UPDATE #6: The death toll from the explosion at Manchester Arena has risen to 22. Two victims have been named so far, including 16-year-old Georgina Callander (who met Grande at the same venue two years prior) and 8-year-old Saffie Roussos.

UPDATE #5: According to AP, the Islamic State group (IS) has claimed responsibility for the attack in Manchester.

UPDATE #4: Ariana Grande has made her first comment since the incident. “Broken,” it begins, “from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words.”

UPDATE #3: Rolling Stone has reported multiple fatalities and injuries following the explosion. The Greater Manchester Police Department are advising everyone to stay away from the area and treating the incident as a terrorist attack. The suspect is believed to be a suicide bomber wearing a backpack, according to reports from NBC News

UPDATE #2: Parents who have been separated from their children are being asked to contact the Holiday Inn in Manchester. At the time of this post more than 50 children were on site and looking for their parents. Here are the details:

 

UPDATE #1: Multiple sources are reporting an early death toll of 20 victims. At least 100 people are believed to have sustained injuries.

Multiple people are dead following an explosion at Manchester Arena in the United Kingdom. The incident is believed to have happened shortly after a headline performance from Ariana Grande ended, but specifics are scarce at this time.

An official statement issued by the Greater Manchester police confirms there are multiple casualties, as well as numerous injuries. People are being asked to stay away from the area so responders can do their jobs.

A Twitter user watching a live feed from outside the arena is believed to have caught the explosion on camera. Look at the left side of the screen in the video below and you will hear a booming sound followed by a flash of light.

According to NBC Nightly News, a rep for Ariana Grande has confirmed the singer “is OK. We are further investigating what happened.”

Again, details are scarce at this time. No explanation for the explosion has been revealed. We do not know if this is an act or terrorism or something else entirely.
