It’s been two years since Long Island natives Patent Pending released their fifth studio album, Riot Hearts Rebellion. According to a normal album cycle, it’s about time for the band to put out another release, and Patent Pending are delivering, but this time in an non-traditional way. For their sixth studio release, the band are taking inspiration from the hits of the last two decades and spicing them up with a pop punk twist.

On Other People’s Greatest Hits, Patent Pending–consisting of vocalist Joe Ragosta, drummer Anthony Mingoia, guitarists Rob Felicetti and Marc Kantor, and bassist Corey DeVincenzo–transform classic hits like Ricky Martin’s “Livin’ La Vida Loca” and the Spice Girls’s “Spice Up Your Life” and even take a stab at more modern pop hits such as Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and Little Mix’s “Shout Out to My Ex.” All in all, it’s a fun album that feels like a Punk Goes release but covers a lot more ground.

Today, we have the exclusive stream of the new album, which drops tomorrow, May 26 via Rude Records. If you’re into feeling nostalgic while also getting your pop punk fix, this album needs to be on your radar and in your ears!

When asked about the cover album, Ragosta said:

“Our mission as a band is to make people happy and have a great time in the process. We had so much fun making this album and we are stoked to see people getting good vibes from these songs that we love so much. It’s been awesome to put our own spin on other people’s music and we couldn’t be more excited about the way this thing came out. The world is a bizarre place right now. It’s hard to get through days with a smile on your face in the midst of all this chaos. Hopefully this album can be a small dose of much needed positivity for anyone who listens.”
