The Maine have announced their first ever full-band livestream since the start of the pandemic and pause of touring. The band had planned the second annual Sad Summer Festival to be taking place right now, but of course have postponed it until the summer of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Instead of performing shows live in front of an audience, The Maine wrapped up recording their eighth studio album, which is currently untitled and due out in 2021.
Today, however, the band have announced “The Maine Presents Flowers on the Grave,” which will commemorate the end of the album cycle of their record You Are Ok, which was released last year.
“I can’t wait to cap off the ‘You Are Ok’ era performing the album in full. It’s been an amazing two years and this will be the perfect celebration for us and the fans,” says drummer Pat Kirch. “There is something special about playing an album in full where you really get the full range of emotion that we put into making the record.”
The Maine will be streaming live from their hometown of Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday August 29th at 4pm PT/7pm ET. If you have an active Pillar membership, you will be able to attend the livestream for free. Fans not on Pillar can purchase tickets on the band’s website.
“The Maine Presents Flowers On The Grave” will be a fully interactive and complete detailed experience for fans. The livestream will include a pre-show experience, the performance of the album in full plus an additional set of songs from the band’s entire catalog, an interactive digital merch booth, and a post show virtual meet and greet with the band.
“I think we all need some live music right now and we are doing everything possible to create an interactive performance that will give everyone that indescribable feeling that you can only get from live music,” Kirch says.
