Introducing Mandi Macias, an emerging new recording artist out of Los Angeles, with a catchy new tune that is revving up chatter across social media, titled “F* Ur F150.”
The built Ford tough song stemmed from a tumultuous relationship with an older man who drove a Ford F-150. “At 19, I thought I was in love with a guy ten years older,” Mandi shares, her eyes twinkling with humor,” she said in a press release. “I thought it was real.”
Mandi soon discovered she wasn’t the only one charmed by the truck driver. “We found out through mutual friends,” she explains. “My drummer nicknamed him ‘F150’ because of his truck, and hinted that another girl was seeing him too.”
Determined to uncover the truth, Mandi reached out to the other women, and the reality unfolded. “I sent a ‘hey girly’ text,” she chuckles. “She replied that they were kind of dating. Then we found a third girl, and we all said, ‘hell no.’”
After meeting the other woman, Mandi discovered the inspiration behind the soon-to-be chart-topping hit. “I’m all about not blaming the other woman but addressing the real problem,” she said.
Based on the title alone, listeners can understand the break-up track addresses a man’s best friend, their vehicles. The track’s catchy elements delivers a solidarity that women across the world can adapt to their toxic relationship, and if not in a toxic relationship, just love a good break-up song. ““F* UR F150” isn’t just a breakup song; it’s a tribute to female solidarity in tough times,” says Macias. “The lyrics, a blend of clever wordplay and raw emotion, highlight a man more attached to his truck than the women he was hurting. But more importantly, they showcase the women who refused to be mistreated, finding strength in each other and their own voices.”
She continued: “We ended up just trash talking his car because he loved it so much. It was affirming that we could come together. They inspired me.”
The song’s motivational message will be a rallying cry, celebrating the power of female friendship and the indomitable spirit of women who know their worth. With her talent and infectious spirit, Mandi is set to become not just a star, but a voice for young women who refuse to be silenced or confined by others’ expectations.
Mandi’s journey to music is defined by her unwavering passion, fierce determination, and a touch of rebellion. Coming from a family of athletic siblings, she naturally leaned towards the arts, often sneaking away to play her late grandma’s piano. “I definitely stood out in my family,” she says with a confident smile. “While everyone else pursued sports, I was drawn to music and acting.
Macias’s latest single marks the first release since her 2023 EP, Teenage Eulogy, which includes breakout hits such as “Tell Me Its Ok” and “You Ain’t a Man.” The new track is the perfect jump-on point for any newfound fan of the promising artist. And with a new album in the works, Mandi promises to introduce a new era of music that involves female empowerment.
“Last year was hot girl summer,” Mandi declares with determination. “This year is empowered girl summer. No more games. We’re owning our truth.”
