Experimental rock artist Siiickbrain has teamed up with Russian protest art collective, Pussy Riot, to release their electrifying new anthem, “Power.”
This single is a follow-up to their December release, “Pin Cushion” and carries the idea that women can take back any power that has been taken from them.
Inspired by her favorite movie “Fight Club,” the music video showcases an all-women cast of bright, young, rising stars fighting it out and highlighting the raw power of women.
“Sisterhood is the best thing on the planet, and this song to me is about empowering each other,” comments Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot.
Siiickbrain is the musical persona of Caroline Miner Smith. She grew up in a rural town and was always drawn to music but was afraid to fully dive in. While embellishing herself as a highly established model in New York City, she started writing poetry in her spare time to cope with anxiety and personal demons. After her move to Los Angeles, Caroline was hit with a very close, personal loss.
“I really was hit with the reality that life is too fragile. I want to do what makes me happy and realized that I had nothing to lose by taking this leap.”
When it comes to her music she says, “I just want to reach people and help them feel empowered by themselves.”
