At the end of July sister trio HAIM (Danielle, Alana, and Este) returned with “Summer Girl,” their first new music since sophomore album Something To Tell You in 2017. As we draw closer to the end of 2019, the sisters have gifted us again with a second new single called “Now I’m In It” and an accompanying video.

“Now I’m In It” is a slow builder, with a piano and a few great riffs to anchor it. Once it reaches its peak, it blooms into an incredible pop track that shines. While we haven’t received a lot of music from HAIM this year, the music they have delivered has been spectacular. As the title suggests, “Now I’m In It” has Danielle singing about some hard times, but the later lyrics and the video have her sisters and a sense of optimism to pull her through. Speaking of the video, it’s directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, whom they’ve previously worked with on videos.

Of the track, Este says “Even when we’re writing about something dark or more serious, we like to tie it up in a bow so that there’s a bit of lightness to it. We want our music, and this song especially, to be the thing that helps you get through that rough time.”
