Toronto duo Electric Youth — vocalist Bronwyn Griffin and multi-instrumentalist Austin Garrick — have shared their new single “ARAWA” (short for “As Restless As We Are”). The second off their forthcoming album, Memory Emotion, “ARAWA” comes after the release of “This Life”, and is a melancholy, sweet song. Listen below.
“One of our goals for this record was to create something that was quite a bit more environmentally versatile than Innerworld,” says Garrick. “In the sense that Innerworld is at its best if you are driving down the Pacific Coast Highway, or alone with headphones. We wanted to create something timeless with Memory Emotion where songs stand on their own.”
Electric Youth’s much anticipated sophomore endeavor Memory Emotion is due out August 9th via Watts Arcade Inc./Last Gang Records. The band is also confirmed for an album release show August 17 at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, with a longer list of show dates coming soon.
