The All Time Low guys are busy. Following Alex Gaskarth’s announcement of side project Simple Creatures is Jack Barakat’s new duo WhoHurtYou. Paired with Kevin Fisher, also known as Sweet Talker (One Republic, 5 Seconds of Summer, Anitta), the two are turning their heartbreak into catchy pop tunes, such as this new single “Wish We Never Met.” The music video brings to life the lyric, “If I could go back and erase you from my mind / I’d do it in a second” with a scene very reminiscent of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Watch below:

“A lot of people think of me as All Time Low’s comic relief, but everyone has their ups and downs, and last year was really tough for me,” shared Barakat. “I handled my first big breakup in all of the wrong ways and ended up in therapy after some close friends encouraged me to seek help. Kevin had gone through a similar rough patch and shared with me that songwriting really helped him through it.”

It’s the first preview of their upcoming EP Stages, which will be out soon via Fueled By Ramen. With influences ranging from Robyn to Japanese House, they blend dub themselves as “dark pop,” the kind that you’d dance to at a club but cry to at home. It’s gonna be a wild ride.
