Following the success of his self-released track “The Few Things”, Toronto-born and LA-based singer-songwriter JP Saxe has signed to Arista Records. He’s now released “Same Room”, which details the small, intimate moments of running in to an ex after a recent breakup.

Speaking about the inspiration behind “Same Room”, Saxe tells Substream about the song, “I spent the next couple of days after my first real heartbreak surprisingly okay. Then, I went to this concert at the Roxy in LA, not anticipating my ex was also going to be there – she was and we didn’t interact in any way. When I got home that night I was no longer okay. A TED Talk and a few too many moments of self-destructive nostalgia later, I wrote ‘Same Room.'”
