Earlier this month, The Flaming Lips surprised everyone by dropping their 15th studio album, King’s Mouth, in honor of 2019’s Record Store Day. The group released the effort via a vinyl pressing that was limited to only 4,000 copies.
The copies have since sold out following the initial release, but don’t worry! It appears the band are giving the new record a wide release, which is set to be available on July 19 via Warner Bros.
King’s Mouth marks the band’s first album since their 2017 release of Oczy Mlody, and as if that wasn’t exciting enough, it’s slated to have “threaded together” narration by Mick Jones of The Clash.
