Ireland four-piece Walking On Cars’ newest release is titled Colours, and the home-run swing “Coldest Water” will immediately snag your attention. To no surprise, Walking On Cars performs best in personal moments like these. 2016’s debut Everything This Way showed us that.
“Coldest Water” tackles vocalist Patrick Sheehy’s struggle with sobriety; “Too Emotional” runs on a big, anthemic chorus; experimenting with synth-pop perfection, “Somebody Else” hits a bold line, “she’s in love with somebody else, somebody that won’t let her down.” It turns out, Colours is the band’s most cohesive, well-put-together album yet. It’s nothing insane, but an impressive collection of tracks that will strike a chord somewhere.
