This week, Iowa power-rockers Kayak Jones have just released an incredibly powerful and moving single titled “Lonely Codependent.” The video, directed by Michael Herrick, gives a powerful performance from the band in the heat of the moment for their infectious single.
The track moves over a towering chorus, “all I am is a lonely codependent” (assuming that’s what I am hearing). “Lonely Codependent” is the first track Kayak Jones released since 2018’s acoustic rendition of “Matter” and “Foolish.” Otherwise, the band has made much smaller, less impressive releases from 2015 through 2017.
“Lonely Codependent” appears to be the first single in the midst of a new album announcement yet-to-be-announced, as told by the band. Check out the video below.
Earlier this month, Kayak Jones was announced as support for Hot Mulligan’s upcoming North American tour. Both Kayak Jones and Hot Mulligan last toured together when Hot Mulligan first released their Opportunities EP in late-2016 to early-2017. We are very excited for this reunion.
Also joining the unofficially dubbed Stoked To Announce tour, is Belmont (as direct support), Fredo Disco (who appears to have some big news coming soon), and Future Teens. The tour kicks off on April 26th in St Louis, Missouri and will head throughout North America until it wraps up June 2nd in Chicago, Illinois at Bottom Lounge.
