Nashville pop-rockers Carverton have released their forthcoming album and moved up the release as a result of the band’s own Kyle Yorlets tragically being killed earlier this month. The band will be donating 50% of all donations towards the album to a Scholarship & Foundation set up in Kyle’s name.
This new album, titled Chasing Sounds, and is the follow-up to Carverton’s debut EP.
The band conveyed a message over on Bandcamp. Check that out below, along with the new album.
“Hello friends, family and fans of Carverton
On February 7th, 2019, we lost the spirit and soul of our band, Kyle Yorlets. Although he may be gone, he will live in our hearts forever. Today, we wanted to share our full-length record that we have been working on for the past year. It was a dream for Kyle to have his art shared with the world, and we wanted to honor his legacy by giving everyone a chance to listen and own the record we have worked so hard on for all these months.
Chasing Sounds is an album that has demanded all of our blood, sweat, and tears. We know the only true satisfaction we could ever get from this is if you all love it as much as we loved making it. We’ve been eagerly waiting to release this, and despite the circumstances that we have been up against, we can’t wait for you all to hear what we and Kyle have been working on this past year.
The record will tap into emotions one experiences while both in and out of love, while feeling helpless, on top of the world, or simply not caring about anything at all. The themes and lyrics expressed throughout are inviting, but might leave you feeling exposed. We ask you to take a moment to celebrate these tracks, to celebrate the love and dedication Kyle placed within these songs for the people he loved both near and far.
We have decided that before releasing this record on Spotify, Apple Music and the streaming & download world, that we will make this record free for everyone to download with the ability to pay what you want for the record. 50% of all donations will go towards setting up a Scholarship & Foundation in Kyle’s name. We know that Kyle will be chasing sounds forever, and we hope that you will join him and us in that journey.
With love,
Michael Curry, Christian Ferguson and Michael Wiebell”
