What does home mean to you? Maybe home is a place, or maybe it’s a person – but at the end of the day, perhaps home is really about a feeling, one of belonging and being at peace. That’s what Hollywood Records artist morgxn concludes in his song “home”, originally included on his debut album vital this spring. Last week, he released a new version of the song, featuring the addition of vocals by Nicholas Petricca of WALK THE MOON.
Petricca joined morgxn onstage at Lollapalooza this summer to sing “home”, and after realizing their musical chemistry, the pair headed to the studio. In a press release about this new version of the song morgxn says,
“When Nicholas from WALK THE MOON joined me at Lollapalooza on this song I felt something cosmic in that moment and the idea was born to make a new version. How often do you get to step back on the mic and sing with the feeling of singing in Paris, London, Berlin, Salt Lake City, Sacramento, Chicago, New York, Nashville…
How often do you get to sing a song already knowing it has changed your life?
That’s this version. That’s this HOME.”
morgxn and Petricca have now shared the video for “home”, which was shot at Joshua Tree National Park – the same place WALK THE MOON filmed the video for “One Foot” last summer. At first, the two are shown in separate parts of the desert as their vocals call and respond; as the song progresses, day turns to night, and soon enough, the two are dancing together.
