Prepare to defend pop-punk all over again because Philly bad boys Man Overboard will be back in action.
No one ever really dies in the movies. Similarly, no bands go on hiatus without fully intending to return when the time is right. Man Overboard announced plans for their current hiatus in January 2016, and they went silent just a few short months later after wrapping one final stateside run (with support from Substream favorites Microwave). Fans were bummed. We were bummed. Hell, everyone was bummed.
Today, without warning, a Facebook event was created to announce what appears to be the return of Man Overboard. Substream was able to grab a screenshot of the page before it was deleted, as well as a notification from Man Overboard’s official account regarding the event’s creation. You can view both items below.
The now deleted post mentioned a December 1 performance at The Theater for The Living Arts in Philadelphia with support from Seahaven. A Live Nation ticket link for the event was still active at the time of this post.
Attempts to reach Man Overboard and their representatives have not returned any comments about this situation. We will continue to follow the story and bring you more updates as they become available.
