I am always impressed by artists who release album after album over the years. Making one album is hard enough, let alone summoning the willpower and creativity to make a multitude of efforts. Marissa Nadler is no stranger to the process of creating and releasing music, haveing put together seven studio albums and numerous other projects so far during her nearly 20 year career. Come September, you can add another release to that list. Entitled For My Crimes, Nadler’s eighth album is set for release in September. Alongside the album announcement, Nadler also shared the title track as the album’s first single.

“For My Crimes” is a beautifully haunting guitar track. Nadler sings and plays guitar on the track, plucking a mournful melody as she sings. Lyrically, Nadler pleads with the listener to think of her fondly, singing “please don’t remember me for my crimes.” As the song moves forward, Janel Leppin provides just the slightest whisper of strings to make “For My Crimes” echo and resonate even more. You may also recognize the voice providing harmonies as well: Angel Olsen lends her vocal talents to “For My Crimes.”

Consisting of 11 songs, For My Crimes will be released on September 28 through Sacred Bones and Bella Union. Nadler has showcased another talent on the new album, with one of her oil paintings appearing as the album’s cover art. You can see the artwork and track list below, as well as listening to “For My Crimes.”
