Two months ago, we brought you an incredible track from June Divided called “Body Wars.” It was described as “the anthem for indecision” and it turned out to be an incredible way to get fans into the band.
Today, however, we are premiering another June Divided track — this time “I Didn’t Mind.” The song, which can be found at the top of the post, once again is highlighted by Melissa Menago’s vocals. Though her vocals shine bright, the rest of the band (guitarist Chris Kissel, drummer Keith Gill, and bassist Lenny Sasso) do more than just play back-up. In fact, Kissel’s guitar work is something that you can’t miss even if you tried to drown it out.
Speaking on the track, Menago goes on to explain that “‘I Didn’t Mind’ is pretty special to our band. We did the majority of the production on this song. We rented out a studio. Mel produced it and Chris engineered it. It was in the middle of a huge snowstorm, and we got snowed into the studio without enough food and supplies. The experience definitely tested us, to say the least, but the final product made it all worth it. The four of us have been together for a long time, and I think the making this song made our bond even stronger.
In addition to the release, June Divided have officially confirmed that their new album, Body Wars, will be released on August 24th via Revival Recordings. Menago goes on to state that “Body Wars has been quite a ride for our band. With this record came some big changes for us. We added new instruments and sounds, and we experimented a lot — it was a long time in the making. It’s definitely been an adventure, and we’re excited to see it end up here, with the Revival Recordings family. If you’ve ever been at war with yourself, this record is for you.”
June Divided have also officially launched pre-orders for Body Wars today. Anyone who uses this pre-order link to pre-order the album or pre-save it on Spotify will be entered to win a few different unique prizes.
