While the original song was an upbeat powerhouse, this new cover is quite the opposite. Heyohwell elected to scale back the song, and strip it down to its essentials; an acoustic guitar, drum beat and Hallie Hertrick’s charming vocals. You can check out the cover at the top of the post.
Regarding the cover, Hertrick says, “We had so much fun putting this cover together! From stripping back the instrumentation, and self-recording the audio to filming the video with Mariah Fritz; a lot of (fun) work went into this thing and we’re really excited it’s out there now!”
Heyohwell have been making some noise in the local Cleveland scene, having opened up for acts like Set It Off, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and the Spill Canvas. In addition, they just wrapped up the recording for their debut EP with Andrew D’Angelo from the Wrecks. More music and news regarding that release is expected to be announced shortly.
