April is shaping up to be a fantastic month of music. One of the main reasons why that’s true is because Brooklyn’s Flatbush Zombies are set to drop their second album, Vacation In Hell, next month. The trio announced the album with the hip-hop history lesson of “Headstone” a few weeks ago, a song I still listen to on a daily basis. Now there’s another track from Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice, and Erick Arc Elliott that will enter the daily roation, as the group released new song “U&I” this afternoon.

Elliott’s production is top notch as usual on “U&I,” a soulful and mellow affair expertly mixed with the introduction from Dia and the sample of Lee Moses’ “What You Don’t Want Me To Be.” The track is a heartfelt ode to the brotherhood the trio share with each other, and the connection is felt strongly throughout “U&I.” With all due respect to Juice and Elliott, it’s Meechy Darko’s verse that makes “U&I.” For two full minutes Darko bares his soul to the world, rapping about his difficult childhood, his struggles with mental illness, and the love that he has for his musical brothers.

You can listen to “U&I” below. Vacation In Hell is set for release on April 6, with pre-orders currently ongoing. The album is a whopping 19 tracks long, and contains guest spots from Joey Bada$$, Bun B, Jadakiss, and Portugal. The Man, amongst others.
