It was way back in September 2014 that Vance Joy released his first album Dream Your Life Away. While fans certainly have had quite a long wait for new music, the Australian singer-songwriter has already shared three singles – “Lay It On Me”, “Like Gold”, and “We’re Going Home” – from his upcoming sophomore album Nation of Two, and is now back with another. This one’s called “Saturday Sun”, and it sees Vance Joy thinking back wistfully on someone he met “out on the West Coast” and wondering if he’s still on her mind. “Saturday Sun” features trumpets in the chorus, but the arrangement overall is simpler than “We’re Going Home”. This is Vance Joy doing what he does best: telling stories and weaving a tale of emotions and memories while leaving the listener to fill in the threads.

Nation of Two will be released on February 23 via Liberation Music (Australia / New Zealand) / Atlantic Records (ROW). Pre-orders for the album, as well as a list of upcoming shows (he’ll be hitting the US for Coachella and Shaky Knees this spring), are available on Vance Joy’s website.
