X Ambassadors release “Joyful” new single and announce headlining tour

What does it mean to be “joyful”? There’s a certain amount of joy we can take from material goods and from having our basic needs met, and there’s always joy to be found in our relationships with others. But the greatest joy there is comes from within, and while there’s no guarantee life will ever be all roses, if we embrace what the universe throws our way and commit to an attitude of positivity, we might just find happiness has been here all along. On X Ambassadors‘ new single “Joyful”, lead vocalist Sam Harris realizes “It’s up to me to try and meet my fate with a smile”; while there may still be hurdles that come his way, by the song’s end he declares that he has “found my joy.” The music video for “Joyful” (which can be seen above) was recorded live at The Los Angeles Theater in Los Angeles, CA; it shows X Ambassadors backed by a choir and string section, but this is a song that would be just as powerful accompanied by a single guitar or keyboard.

“Joyful” follows a series of four singles released in 2017 (“Hoping”, “Torches”, “The Devil You Know”, and “Ahead Of Myself”), as well as “Home”, which was included on Bright: The Album, the soundtrack for Netflix’s Bright. It will be the title track on X Ambassadors’ forthcoming studio album, set to be released this spring on KIDinaKORNER / Interscope Records. Joyful is available for pre-order here.

In addition to the single and album, X Ambassadors have also announced the Joyful Tour to take place this spring all across North America and Europe. Joining X Ambassadors on the Joyful Tour will be Son Little, The Aces, Jacob Banks, Substream #57 cover stars Misterwives, Allan Rayman, SHAED, Mondo Cozmo, morgxn, Now, Now, and Fletcher on select dates. X Ambassadors have always strived to be a voice for change, and this tour is no different: they’ll be bringing along the non-profit REVERB to run the XAmbassadors Action Zone. REVERB works with musicians and fans to protect the environment and create significant, positive change; more details about the activation will be announced soon.
