The world of EDM is no stranger to collaborations. Multiple artists will team up to blend their individual sounds into something new and something fresh, and one collaboration we’re excited about is Zeds Dead and Jauz‘s new track, “Lights Go Down.” Released as a joint effort between Jauz’s new label Bite This and Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats, the song is a drum-and-bass inspired that starts off light before zooming into a dark and twisted space that fans of either act are sure to love.

If you’ve been around the EDM world for a minute, chances are you’re familiar with Zeds Dead. Zack Rapp-Rovan and Dylan Mamid have been making music together for over a decade, touring non-stop around the world with both festival performances and headlining shows. Zeds Dead recently told Billboard“Us and Jauz knew we needed to make a track for ages… We tossed a bunch of ideas around and ended up with this world collider. Something to skank out to. Play it, then play it again.”

Not familiar with Jauz? Like many DJs, California native Sam Vogel got his start by sharing remixes online, which soon caught the attention of major acts like Diplo, Skrillex, and Borgore. He’s since collaborated with several of Substream‘s favorite DJs, such as Marshmello (for the track “Magic”) and Slushii (for “I Hold Still”), and performed at festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival, Spring Awakening, and Ultra.

In a statement of his own to Billboard, Jauz said, “Even before I became friends with Zack and Dylan, I always thought it would be cool to work on music with them…. They always made all different kinds of electronic music while keeping their sound pretty solid throughout all of it, and that’s something I really try to do with my own stuff. I think that’s probably why we ended up making a drum and bass record. We both wanted to do something that wouldn’t be what was necessarily expected, and we both have huge influences from the drum and bass world. The song turned out really awesome, and this is just one of a bunch of records we’ve been working on together. I wouldn’t rule out more music with the three of us in 2018.”
