Back in August, we told you about Michigan rapper NF’s third album Perception. The album announcement came along with the release of two new singles, “Outro” and “Green Lights”, and from the hard-hitting honesty we heard, we knew there was something special about him. In mid-September, NF followed that up with the release of “Let You Down”, which took no hesitation in tackling his strained relationship with his father, who he feels like he’s let down. Take a look at the lyrics to the chorus:

Feels like we’re on the edge right now
I wish that I could say I’m proud
I’m sorry that I let you down
Let you down
All these voices in my head get loud
I wish that I could shut them out
I’m sorry that I let you down
Le-le-let you down

Our original post about “Let You Down” has remained on the Substream Trending list of popular content for two and a half months, and now, the song has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), signifying that it’s reached over 500,000 equivalent total sales (combined traditional sales and on-demand audio and video streams). With over 300 million combined global streams across platforms and hitting No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 Chart, US Viral 50 Chart, and Today’s Top Hits (as well as ranking on the Viral 50 Charts in over 50 countries), it’s no surprise “Let You Down” was Spotify’s fastest growing song for all of November. The song has continued to climb the US Top 40 and Rhythm radio charts, and while it was NF’s first RIAA certification, we have a feeling it won’t be his last.

NF will hit the road for the Perception Tour in early 2018, and several shows on the North American leg have already sold out. He recently announced a run of international shows to take place in Europe in April and May. The full list of shows can be seen below and tickets are available on his website.
