At the beginning of October, rapper NF released his third studio album Perception. An underdog victory if there ever was one, the album debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and has sold a total of more than 800,000 copies to date. The biggest single from the album, “Let You Down”, which dives in to his troubled relationship with his father, has more than 100 million streams worldwide and in addition to reaching Number 1 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 Chart, US Viral 50 Chart, and Today’s Top Hits, the song has received Top 40 radio airplay. Now, NF has shared the official music video for “Let You Down”, which can be seen above.

The “Let You Down” video begins with an older man walking down to a lake that, at first, appears still. But soon we see someone struggling under the surface, reaching his hands up and gasping for air, yet the man just watches on. He continues to stand by as NF is trapped in a burning car, and it’s not till things come to a tragic end that we see him show any emotion at all.

If you haven’t listened to Perception yet, you can do so below. The album might break your heart but if you’ve ever struggled with anything from addiction to family problems to loss, it might give you something that you can relate to. This winter, NF will hit the road for the Perception Tour. The nearly two-month trek will see him headline venues like the House of Blues in Chicago and Playstation Theater in New York City.  Tickets for all shows are available now via NF’s website.
