THRILLCHASER are hardly new to the world of pop-rock– they were quick to accrue a cult following under their previous monicker, American Wolves. As American Wolves, they tore through the tropes of rock music and splashed in a little EDM influence a la that Lindsey Sterling collaboration with Lizzy Hale (of Halestorm). The music they released at that point in their careers was amazing for what it was, but the band decided that it was time for a change of direction. With this change of direction came a change in name, and this THRILLCHASER was born.

Toning down the hard-hitting pulses of EDM and creating a lush brand of pop rock similar to that of The 1975 and Palewaves, THRILLCHASER has the potential to be the next band to grace an unprecedented amount of ~aesthetic~ blogs on Tumblr. Today, we’re bringing you the lyric video to a brand new song called “Emptiness.” The track comes from their debut album, A Lot Like Love, which is due out early next year. The track is a high energy bop about finally feeling free of the toxicity of a bad relationship, and the lyric videos use of pale colors and line graphics is the perfect blend of both eye and ear candy that is bound to leave viewers in a trance-like state the entire time.

When asked about the track, frontman Rod Pires said: “‘Emptiness’ was actually the first song that we completely finished during the recording of our album, “A Lot Like Love”. Exploring a different side to our songwriting and creating a genuine record true to who we are as people were the goals from Day 1. We holed ourselves up in the studio and spent the holidays, winter and early Spring in Bethesda, MD hard at work with producer Taylor Larson.

A Lot Like Love is out February 16th. Pre-order your copy here to receive an instant download of “Emptiness.”
