Last December, Citizen frontman Mat Kerekes released a new solo song titled “Ruby,” along with the announcement that a new album would be coming in 2019. While we are still waiting details for this upcoming album, Kerekes has released another new solo single called “Diamonds.”
It is the second track off the upcoming album, which will be his first full length album since 2016’s Luna & the Wild Blue Everything.
“Diamonds” continues to find Kerekes experimenting with new sounds and crafting an overall unique sound that shows him branching off from the signature sound that fans have come to love from Citizen. The music video — directed by Johnny Crew — can be found below.
Additionally, Kerekes will be heading out on a headlining tour to support his new solo music. The tour will kick off on February 28th in Cleveland, Ohio and wrap up on March 29th in Chicago, Illinois. Jetty Bones and Jacob Sigman will provide support for the tour.
