Here’s a sentence any fan of the alternative scene never expected to read: Circa Survive frontman Anthony Green joins forces with Canadian pop-rock queen Avril Lavigne on a new single from Grey titled “Wings Clipped”.

No, your eyes are not playing trick on you. No, this isn’t one of those weird Funny Or Die mashups you’ll feel silly for believing might be real. You read that sentence right, and the song described does exist. “Wings Clipped” is the latest single from the duo known as Grey, and it features verses from two of alternative music’s biggest names. You can stream the single, in full, at the top of this post.

Taken from Grey’s debut EP Chameleon, which was released today (September 29), “Wings Clipped” is a powerful song that reinforces the need to believe in one’s own self and the path you have chosen. In writing about the release of the EP, Grey members (and brothers) Kyle and Michael Trewartha said “Creating our debut ep, Chameleon, was really challenging, but the kind of challenge you enjoy every minute of. We can be super picky about every aspect of a song and want everything to be perfect so there is a lot of thought going into each little section from top to bottom. We’re so excited to finally share chameleon with you and hope you enjoy it!”
