There has been a ton to enjoy during the buildup to PVRIS releasing their sophomore album, All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell. All of the songs and videos so far have been stellar and thought-provoking. While the release date for AWKOHAWNOH has been pushed back from August 4 to August 25, PVRIS aren’t leaving us empty-handed this week. The trio just dropped new track “Winter,” along with an accompanying video.

Matching the icy season that gives the song its name, Lynn Gunn sings of a love that has run as cold as it gets. “Winter in your soul, You got no love in your bones,” Gunn says in the chorus, and she’s not having it. The instrumental isn’t as expansive as what we’ve heard from the other new tracks, instead compact and hunkered down as if to preserve warmth.

The video finds Gunn, Alex Babinski, and Brian MacDonald layered over one another while the song plays and Gunn sings. It’s a cool effect, but we expect nothing less based on the band’s recent video output.

While we have to wait a few more weeks for the new album, we’d wait as long as it takes for PVRIS.
