The wait is over, pop rock fans. After a brief moment away from the spotlight New Jersey’s own golden boys, The Front Bottoms, have returned with new music.

Earlier today, August 23, The Fader exclusively premiered a video for a new song from The Front Bottoms titled “Raining”. The track is the first to be released from the band’s upcoming album, Going Grey, which is set to be released on October 13. You can view the cover art for the record can be viewed at the end of this post.

“‘Raining’ was one of the last songs we wrote and recorded for the album but it had been an idea we had for years,” The Front Bottoms said of the track, premiering above with a video made by Ryan Baxley. “We just wondered around parts of New Jersey with a super 8 camera and filled up 11 rolls with footage,” they said.

Fans will be happy to learn “Raining” does not stray far from The Front Bottoms’ signature acoustic-driven take on all thing pop rock. The track bops with the same energy that first put the band on the map, only now it’s paired with lyrics written using the wisdom they’ve gained from spending the better part of a decade on tour. Longtime fans know The Front Bottoms are at their best when detailing their lives, and “Raining” simply feels like the latest chapter in a book listeners hope the band continues to write for the foreseeable future.

The Front Bottoms have also announced plans for an extensive fall headlining tour. Dates for the run, which will feature support from Basement and Bad Bad Hats, can be found below the art for Going Grey. Comment and let us know the show you plan to attend.
