It’s been nearly six months since we were introduced to the impressive full-length debut from Channel Islands indie band Astral Cloud Ashes. Fortunately for us, ACA is back with a new single, and we think it’s safe to call it their best song yet.
Improving on the sounds that initially hooked us on Too Close To The Noise Floor, “Moonphase Bloom” contains all the best elements of the strongest offerings to come out of the indie/alternative/emo/post-whatever scene in recent years. As we said back in February, fans of frontrunners like Modern Baseball, the Front Bottoms, and Tiny Moving Parts will find comfort in this band’s creations, but Astral Cloud Ashes is no imitation. Founder/songwriter Antony Walker is carving his own little niche with memorably unique melodies and song structures that stand entirely on their own without using influences as a crutch.
We really can’t wait for this band to catch on with the masses so we have more people to talk to about their sweet, sweet sounds. Dig in and spread the word.
